In light of the curious doomsday spirit, here are some apps for the end of the world or when robots or zombies finally take over. But before we start:


iLOCi2 Lite

This is an interactive GPS people-finder app that integrates with Google Maps and your social networks of friends who have “opt-in” to the app. It’s a straight forward “Where are you? I’m here!” visual location app for when, you know, Godzilla tears up the city and the “I’m at the Starbucks on 38th & 7th” is no longer there.

Final Countdown

Final Countdown is  a timer with various countdown functions: birthdays, year end, due dates, vacations, etc. It can also serve as an alarm clock. You can set different wallpapers, alarm sound effects, sleep-modes, unlimited number of timers, and personal message notifications at the end of each countdown. In the latest version 2.1 Final Countdown lets you add countdowns to your Facebook Events.

Apocalypse Knights – Endless Fighting with Blessed Weapons and Sacred Steeds

This app just seems appropriate for the last day of everything. It’s a mobile fantasy gaming app that let’s you battle it out with end of the world creatures. 5 star reviews in iTunes and over 1M downloads. Made in Taiwan.

2012 – A New Age for Man?

This app provides you multiple short videos about 2012 predictions from ancient prophets. The purpose is to elevate our “doomsday” knowledge to a more profound perspective about learning from our history and predicting futures of the world. Some subjects include Details of the Mayan Calendar, Prophecies 2012, Sanctus by Karl Jenkins, etc.
